Disco I and II starter differences
I'm curious is the Disco I and II starter motor compatible?
What are the differences? I read that the DII starter motor has more torque ?
and its better to replace the DI starter motor with the DII?
Thanks

Link: Land Rover
Instead I saw the 1.9 Horsepower Nippondenso Gear Reduction Starter with lifetime warranty for $225. Its expensive but I think it will be worth it in the long run.
I'm tired of the starters dieing keeping me stranded.
Thanks for the link. I'm glad I don't have to buy another old starters.
Lessons:
1. Used factory starters $30-$80 is a bit of a gamble on the life span left. I purchased two in the past and they died within a year or less.
2. Purchased Brand new starters for $50-$80, some off random brand. Was very strong and worked for maybe 6-8 months or so and died.
Well now i'm on this $225 high performance starter and hope it stays working. If not the lifetime warranty sounds nice.
Thanks

Land Rover = Money pit.

It's a money pit when you toss $225 at it not to mention 30 or so starters......what the heck are you doing to that thing? I'm on the second one of my vehicles 170k life. One shot and it starts........
Your a Rover killer with a fat wallet.....lol.

Driving it? lol. My previous dead starters, one shot and it starts but for how long?
As I jinx myself the starter is all that has held up (almost) and it was used since the original died 1 mile from where I bought the rover it was rotted away from salt and bad no idea how it worked at all
I just nabbed a new rebuilt Bosch d2 starter off the seat in a pull rover looks same to me?
