Disco I Starting / Ignition Problem after washing?
Ok...so my 98 Disco I is smarter than me!! I spent the entire weekend cleaning it and taking care of some minor repairs in order to get it ready to put it up for sale. The truck runs very solid and has been trouble free for the 2 years or so. In the process of cleaning the car, I power washed the engine compartment (as I've done numerous times) and now the truck won't start. It must not want to lose me as an owner...LOL.
So i'm thinking something that wasn't supposed to get wet, got wet. The ignition acts very strange. I can turn the key all the way to the start position and nothing at all happens. If I hold it there for a few seconds or turn the key in an attempt to restart it the truck will turn over and over with not the slightest sound of wanting to start. Any ideas?

off topic - but control of water around electronics is always an issue.
Here are three of my Civils hard at work on a beach "surf zone" survey, Outer Banks, winter, note Trimble antenna; gear all in watertite containers, capturing data just as fast as it can. Field work is tough on crew, boat, vehicles, etc.
Once you get the water out everything should be OK. If you did damage the ECU, they can be purchased from the salvage yard for like $40, or dismanters (known good units) for more. Don't go to dealer....
