Default Disco won't start

I drove to the Mexican place down the street. Ate dinner and came back out to a Disco that won't crank. I turn the key and nothing the starter does not engage. All the electricals in the truck are working. I did remove the headliner today for paint prep and I used a bumpy dirt road to get to the Mexican joint. But beyond that nothing "extraordinary" for this vehicle. I've had bad starters in the past and that isn't the problem. I've never had one work perfect and then 10 minutes later fail. I've always had prior noticed that it was going bad. I feel like a connection is loose somewhere. Also I turned the car off in the lot and then cranked it again to move closer so I could keep an eye on my "hog dogs" that were loaded up. Before I went in to eat. So if something was loose wouldn't it have not cranked when I turned it off for 2 minutes prior to recranking and parking.

i had a problem similar to that after i did my second starter replacement. I hadn't torqued the nut down onto the starter positive terminal well enough and wasn't getting juice to the starter solenoid. I would start with tracing your power from the battery to the starter and making sure it's getting there. You can also arc the positive and negative terminals on the starter. It'll spark like a mother but at least you'll know your starter has juice. Be super careful if you do that though.

Good luck

Is your starter disengaged by the security system?
