wheelbase.

downside to a long wheelbase is its breakover angle or it gets high centered easier..

Only real good side to long wheelbase besides more room. less chance to flip over backwards if your climbing up a RE DONK U LOUS hill

I'd do for the disco. Look at the price of the defenders out there, $17000....
you can have a disco for a quarter the price and then spend a little on upgrades. You get the comfort and all the bits just a poop load cheaper...
As has been said previously, they all have the same workings underneath.

Definately go for the discovery. I look at defender owners as those who chose to spend WAAAY too much for a truck. I bought my Disco for $700 US dollars. After alot of maintenance and a few upgrades I am still under $2500 with 4 BFG MT KM2 tires costing me $1000 US. I have been offroad 7 times in the past 7 months. I love it!

I could not be happier!

We used to use inches, and pounds and ounces for that matter, but then our spineless government allowed the rest of europe to walk all over us and dismiss our systems of measurement as unsuitable, hence the requirement to sell in kilos and measure in centimetres... but we still use MPH.

Europe sucks.

Pros and Cons for Both. If your in Auckland come along to a Land Rover club meeting 1st Monday of each month. Heaps of people to talk about it there.

I personally run a Series 1 Disco, 2" OME Lift and 32" BFG tyres and dual ARB Lockers plus winch and a few other mods. Its capable enough for now.

Some in the club run defenders, range rovers, discos, series etc. Other Land Rover clubs through out NZ also.

Mine was off trademe about April last year for NZ$8000 174,000Km 300TDi Auto.

Where do you wheel from Auckland? Do they let you ride in the forest parks? When I was there biking, I neer saw anyone off-roading.
