Unless there is something terribly wrong with the present hood latch, DON'T do it!!
You would seriously spoil the look of your ride.
Then again, I'm in red neck country and a few have cargo strap across the hood... I hope it's for the 6 pointer roadkill.
Seriously, don't do it.

I think there could be a way to pull it off. I can either put it straight across the hood where it folds down or more towards to top.

Umm, didn't you just post a whole long list of stuff in that "wish I hadn't done that" post? I am with SD and advise you take a deep breath and count to 50 before you go poking holes in your body.

Default Chains?

I just cleaned out my dungeon after acquiring a new girlfriend (she didnt like it). I have tons of chain if you need any.

No, seriously, I have the same prob with my bonnet corners waving in the breeze and singing the wind song to me at 70 mph as I bump through the craters of Central Maine.

Cheers,
Eoghan

X2... and I don't have attitude Pretty soon you'll be looking for a replacement hood decal, not for roof rack light glare reduction but something low friction that stays super slick soz when you slide across your "bonnet" Dukes of Hazzard-style you won't get stuck halfway across... then those hood pins will be a real Hazzard. (buh duh bump...snare)

back to the OP, are you concerned about the cable failing, leaving your hood closed up tighter than......... well.... something tight (PG)?

It is VERY easy to rig up an emergency pull cable to your latch mechanism, you just have to do it BEFORE there is a problem.
