Does this seem to be a simple "upgrade" to cut down on wind noise at highway speeds? read a few snippets on the topic, but can't seem to find anything definitively. Any help or insight is appreciated. Thank you.

 

Nothing to it. I do recommend you remove the black plastic sills or treadways as Rover likes to call them. You can even replace the tailgate seal. I’ve sold dozens of sets. If you decide to do it, let me know. I have all the seals, used, in good condition, in stock.

Ok, I'm out of the loop on this one ...is it an improved gasket? What's 'better' about it, or is it just because it's new? If I can ask, what's the typical cost?

They're heavier, more pliable and really cut down on drafts and noise. I've sold dozens of sets and most people who install them can't believe how much better they are than the originals. They can be used on DI's and RRC's.

It's not just a matter of the seals being newer, they are, in fact much better.
