Default Door Seal Alternatives?

At around $140 for one genuine door seal (e.g. driver's side), I am curious if there are alternatives out there that work as good or better. Mine are in need of replacement soon.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Yep, go to the bone yard and grab a DII's door seal.

Assuming I can find one nearby with good seals, I would think removing them would damage the seals. No?

Ah, no. They just peel away from the doors steel lip. You don't remove the rubber part, you remove the molding that the rubber is adhered to. If you can't find one locally I'm sure one of the many dismantlers on our forum could part with one cheaply....... Don't be afraid, just jump right in there......lol. It's so simple you'll laugh at yourself for waiting so long to do this. I'm on my second DII door seal already and I have a gray interior, some DII's have black interiors......looks better than gray and I won't do beige anything.

I got my last set from the scrapyard. The guy forgot to charge me, LOL. Otherwise he was going to charge me $20 for all 5. A used set from a rover dismantler usually runs about $70-80 shipped.

How about the seals for the windows? the one that goes inside the channel where the glass goes?? anybody have a source for them? Pass side window has a section missing and it gets a bit cool at below zero temps..

48 feet of this is enough to do all 5 doors:
SKU: STP-1614 [This products offers edge protection and sealing, with roll length of ]

It's a little thicker than stock rubber so it seals better, but takes a few weeks to break in. Doors won't shut easily until then. Use heavy duty cutters to cut cleanly.

I need this too. I travel long distances (GA to TX and back) and my driver-side window whispers sweet nothings in my ear the whole trip.

Gotta turn up the radio to drown out the wind noise and people know FOR SURE that I'm driving when on the phone LOL..

When you get a source please let me know because I need to get that fixed too.

It might help to start a separate thread on window felt/seals to get you more attention since this thread title is about door seals.

Good luck!
