Default drive shaft q

I am pretty sure I know the answer but aren't the u joints supposed to be in line looking down the shaft?

Just making sure since some things on rover seem to not stick with conventional thinking

Reason I ask is my front shaft is clocked like 45* out and I have a vibration I can't fix that has always been there

When you say clocked you mean the yokes are 45* out? You should be able to remove the shaft, pull it apart at the splines and align it. Might want to have it balanced while your at it.

Yes that's what I mean and what I just did to rec lock it, will see how it is, there are no weights on it which I find a little odd

Mine has a weight but it's a little jacked up from some sort of contact. I'm debating whether or not to upgrade the rear shaft

D1 front propshaft u-joints are supposed to be phased 45 degrees from each other.

Also noticed I have what's left of a white decal wrapped around the shaft, maybe been replaced?
