Don't get too excited, it is 2 row Plastic where the original is a 3 row brass radiator. You stand a good chance of making an over heater out of a D1.

Your old one was 15 years old.. I'm with discomike (for the first time ever) plastic tanks on a radiator that sees such a wide temp range? I doubt they last as long as your original o e did.. Ill stick to recoring with an added row.

Compared to price of a dip and rod out, which is $75, this is high. Compared to a recore, this is cheap. Compared to a new copper radiator (if you can find them), this is such a bargain you can buy a second rad to keep on the shelf, and an Ultra Gauge to watch temps, and have money left for a tool set that is on holiday sale price right now. Plastic tanks won't last as long, but most likely longer than the rest of the truck will in typical suburban commute to the gulag duty. Emergency plastic repairs include melting zip ties, think of it as plastic solder.

A clean aluminum radiator is better than a clogged up brass one.

Aluminum or copper core isnt as much of a huge deal but I just cant see having plastic tanks on my rad. I know a lot of new cars are manufactured this way but the reason is to save cost not because it's superior..

None-the-less it is a good price on a radiator that will keep your truck cool.. Bu you get what you pay for and I refuse to skimp on anything related to engine, driveline and brakes.
