Did you use Teflon tape on the threads?

i have the same guage. i got the adapter at jegs. its made by autometer. i believe it is m12x1.5 and i believe the sender is 1/4. were you able to put the sender directly into the front cover? it didnt look like it would fit so i made an extension with a copper tubing kit.

Spike,

The adapter you speak of that mounts between the filter and the block, is that something you can use and do a oil pressure guage inside the vehicle or what. Thanks for all your good input.

Would removing the valve covers and taking a peek inside tell me anything regarding the possible gunk inside?

I have that oil filter sandwich adapter from glowshift installed on my 03 it has three ports and comes with two plugs, I hooked up the glowshift oil pressure gauge with it and it works like a charm, it extends the filter by an inch, no problem running longer filters either. However I have always wondered if there is a HUGE difference in between the pressure at the adapter versus the factory pressure point on the cover, it bothers me but I deal. glowshift really has some good quality stuff for the money.

I forget what it is called but several guys on here have bought one and there is a link somewhere on the forum.
I will see if I can find it unless you find it first.

I took a look at that site and chatted with their tech rep. They are all reudced to 29.99 or 34.99. They don't list the Land Rover, but he said it uses a 3/4 - 16 thread (3 inch outer diameter).

They have various guages for $50-70.

They also have a oil cooler kit for 129.99 that has the oil filter adapter plate and a small radiator type cooler.

Where does the Freight Harbor unit mount on the engine??

It would be nice to add a full-time oil pressure guage.

Another question: what is the fix if it is the oil pump/sludge issue????

Which pressure guage did you get? how is it mounted?

I want to add a decent oil pressure guage to my 97.

I mounted water temp and oil pressure gauges on the a pillar right above the tweeter in a ..you guessed it, glowshift brand two gauge pod.
