Is there an engine that is not of the LR aluminum verity that would be a suitable match for the Disco 1?

 

It's funny how often this has come up lately. The short answer is no mostly because of the time and money involved. But there are guys who have installed or attempted other motors. But I don't think a "good" alternative exists for any car without resources out the wazoo. My understanding is that the aluminum 215ci Buick motors are a good choice... oh wait a minute... scratch that, I think that's been done.
