Default extreme 4x4

I watch power block every week and thought "man I would love to see extreme 4x4 do a rover" maybe we should put a petition together and encourage them a little.

You'd have to suggest a "budget build" , or you know he'd put a 455 buick and dana 60's in it.

(I'm a quasi-purist)

I actually wrote them an email once and told them that there are things off road that don't say jeep and they should build a Rover. Most of what they do to make their projects into extreme wheelers Rover did at the factory.

I wouldnt be to fond of seeing them drop a 455 in it, Id be on the phone with my bank while i was watching the thing start. A 455 is ridiculous in a rover lol but i agree, A nice budget trail ready rover build would be very interesting. +1

It would be interesting to see what they would do, I'm sure they would look into the whole rover "scene" and find some expert to help out.

I think there are a lot of us out on the trails who have Rovers that fall into the "budget build" category. I am really curious what Extreme 4x4 would do if left to their own imagine to turn a Rover into an "extreme wheeler". I'm sure if they did a Rover project it would be a Defender which completely throws out the budget build idea but at least it's a Rover and a lot of their ideas for the Defender would work for a Disco.

Anyone have any idea how to go about getting this petition circulated for signatures and submitted to the show? Even if we do this it doesn't guarantee they'll listen but at least it lets them know there are a lot of people that want to see something other than a jeep.

I flip to that show almost every weekend hoping they're doing a Rover. I'd sign the petition. I'm sure there is some sort of "electronic" from we could use...if not, we can just put a signature packet in the mail and bounce it around the country to forum members!

I'd imagine Ian would throw in some full floating truck axles with disc brakes

Then a bulletproof auto trans with O.D. for the road

Maybe fully box the frame

Probably a three-point rear link susp for better articulation
A two-point long arm on the front, too

You know he likes the alum body skins to save weight

I'm sure a light weight, flat torque curve V8 for predictable control.

Engine and trans oil coolers a must.

Got to be able to lock up the transfer case

That's all I can come up with for my dream 4x4 right now, but I'm open to suggestions.

LOL
