Question Fog Lamps

Ok when I got my Disco I noticed the lamps were broken from behind, I was unaware that these lamp to be replaced you need the whole lamp with wire/harness(my guess). So I checked to see where they hook up at and found no harness from truck to lamp. Does anyone know which wires are used for the fog lamps? Just like to know before I start testing all the wires, thanks.

Had the same issue as you. When you google search it turns up a bunch of BS about the whole assembly being sealed. All you need to do is remove the bolts and screws holding the fog lamp bracket to the valance and unhook the wire to remove everything from the vehicle. The connector is right behind the headlight on either side for the fog lamps. Just un clip the conector from its little bracket, and then release it from its other half. Pull the wire down from the bottom and you can set the whole assembly aside. Then just remove the 2 screws on the sides of the fog lamp house and pull the lens forward away from the other half. Takes some convincing but it does come off.

In all honesty the factory fogs are useless, always cause problems and tend to plague everyone who messes with them. If they dont work just rip them out and use aftermarket stuff or run all new wires with a stand alone relay to the factory switch. Saves a whole lot of time either way and you'll have fogs that wont crap out every 3 months.

Mine doesn't have the female or male end where the lamp's female or male end would connect to.

So there is no wires at all coming out of your fog lamp housing? If they are missing you'll need new harnesses that run from behind the headlights down to the foglamps.

The lamp itself just has one little spade terminal inside the housing that connects to lead from the h3 bulb and then another spade for the ground. The only plastic connector is the one in the picture. Do you have everything taken apart already? My guess is that if your harness got messed up you could probably just fab a new one on the cheap. If all thats missing is the connections for the lamp itself you'll be back in business for under a buck. The housing is a different story though, they are really expensive. Roverlandparts.com has them cheaper than most other places but they are still almost $100 per side.
