Fog lamps wiring to switch
I have two sets of fog lamps on my 96 SE7: one set of Hella lights mounted to the brush guard, and one set in the front spoiler. Both sets are wired to the console with what appears to be factory switches. I've got one switch in the console on the left side of the steering wheel and another to the right next to my cruise control switch. I believe both switches are wired to a relay located by the battery.
Here's the problem: neither set of fog lamps works. Ive tested each bulb and they're all okay. All my fuses are good. At the relay there are 4 wires: ground, hot wire to the battery, switch wire and the positive. When you hit the switches on the console that wire should energize and bring power to the relay thereby activating it and turning on my lights...but alas, no power with the switches are activated. I traced the switch wire from the relay and can see where it passes through the firewall at the brake booster. I suspect it must have come disconnected behind the firewall???
Does anyone know where the switch wire goes after it passes through the firewall? Should I look near the fuse panel or does it connect somewhere behind the instrument cluster? What's the easiest way to access it and see about a repair?
