Default Foggy Headlamp

ran the D1 thru a touchless carwash and noticed some fogging in one of the headlamps - I see a new one is pushing $300 - anyone have a good one they might want to sell or is it best to take it out and try and dry it ? hair dryer ?

D1 headlights are glass, so very dry-able. The turn signals are plastic.

Ive noticed some moister in mine after a rain - Im gonna see if I can re-seal it - I believe the front lense is glued to the rear portion under the rubber surround or.... could just need fresh socket grommets.
Hopefully someone has fixed this? I would prefer fixing as a used one will likely do the same due to age.

Default D1 Foggy headlight reseal

I resealed mine, it was easy. While it was off I also sanded the clear lense and clear coated it, so it looks new. I’ll just focus on the resealing on this post. Most time consuming part was the numerous cleanings on all the seals and housings to make sure it was in perfect condition for sealing. Mine was so dirty. I just disassembled and washed everything in the sink with soap and water and then prepped it with an alcohol swab before applying sealant. I used permetex to seal everything.

Here is what I did:

-Separate wire harness
-remove lights from metal light brackets
-disassemble clear light housing from the black backing.
-remove the light bulb assembly and bulb
-clean and dry the clear light housing and backing. Let it dry all the way.
-permetex the clear housing where it’s sealed to itself (you’ll see it’s like a chalky hard sealant, I just painters taped a nice channel and painted it on over it pressing it into any low areas). Let it dry all the way 24 hours.
-reassemble to bulbs and bulb housing
-attach the black plastic backing to the clear portion.
-permetex the gap between the black plastic housing and the clear plastic housing. Let it dry all the way 24 hours.
-reinstall everything to light brackets.
