Door opens from the inside. Opens from the outside if you lift up on the lock, but won't otherwise. Not the end of the world. Have the trim removed though. See the rod from the handle down to the lock and I can see the clevis pin and thread as well. I know I need to tighten it a turn, but can't for the life of me figure out how? Do you have to get that pin off 12 inches from the hole? If so how? If not, how do you tighten the rod a turn?

 

You need to replace the broken spring... common issue.

This guy on Ebay sells them, 10 bucks for 3 (yes they are different depending on the door) With instructions. It's a pain in the butt job, Figure 3 hours. Now that I have done it a few times, I would guess an hour
