Default Fuel Pump

I have a 1999 D1, and I recently picked up a fuel pump from a 1996 D1... They're different though... I'm wondering if there is away to make this work?

I got the new pump for free, it was in a 1996... but you can tell it was replaced recently... Any thoughts?

They are totally different versions. Yours in the Advanced Emissions (AEL) system.

What is the actual problem with yours?

The version you have is the most expensive. I do not know if the internal pumps are interchanable or not. If they are interchangeable and that is the problem with yours, you may be able to swap just the internal pumps and reuse your original Fuel Pump Assembly.

Otherwise you need to stay with the same AEL version Fuel Pump Assembly if you follow what I am saying...

Yes the actual pump is interchangeable but not the whole assembly.

If you do strip the fuel pump itself out of the free replacement you have, please do not throw away the top itself. I would like to have it as a spare.
