Default Fuel Pump and other issues

I am brand new to this forum, but a long-time rover owner. My oldest son is driving now, so we are trying to resurrect a 95 Disco that was pretty rough when it was parked in the pasture 10 years ago, and has been untouched since.

The first issue was the clutch cylinders, which were full of rust and goop. I got those rebuilt and bled the system, which was a pain.

There was no fuel pressure, so I took the pump assembly out. The flexible hose from the pump to the outlet had fallen to pieces, and the pump does not turn, although there is power to the pump. I noticed that all of the parts places I have found so far want to sell the whole assembly, even though the pump itself is easy to take out. Does anyone have a cheap source for the pump? I am sure it is available, even under a different brand. the boy has very little cash.

Among the other problems that we will certainly face is a starting issue, which was the reason it got parked in the field in the first place. It is a manual, and about half the time, it will not crank at all. I got good at push starting it, and tried to always park it on a hill, just in case. I have not started troubleshooting this problem yet. I plan to start by checking the voltage at the starter and solenoid, but I don't think that is the problem. Solutions welcomed. Thanks in advance

Welcome onboard!

Have you checked to see if you have fuel pressure at the rail under the hood?
There is a schrader valve you can press, but be careful you dont get it in your eyes!
Mounting a fuel pressure gauge is also on my to-do-list.

Also check the connection on the fuel pump, give it a little tug.

Many have gotten replacement pumps at AutoZone if your cash is low.
Paul Grant maybe able to help with some parts.

There was no pressure at the rail. I took the pump out, and wired it in and turned the key on. The pump is not vibrating or making any sound, and does not pump when the intake is set into a cup of gas. I ran some degreaser through it, to get rid of any gunk, but it did not help.

Part of my question is asking if anyone knows a source for the pump itself, without having to buy the whole assembly with the fuel level float and all that plastic.

Ok- I found it. It is an Airtex E3270, at about $23.00
