Default Gear Shifter Stuck (Not brake switch)

Hello,

I can not shift my truck, the button will not depress. So I dismantled the center console and it seems the cam(?) is seized inside the gear shifter. You can use pliers to move the cam up and down but the issue is if you leave it up you cant complete the circuit to remove the key. I dont want to bypass so should to replace the whole unit? Has anyone dismantled these assemblies? Also the brake switch works it will still lock it in park if brake is not depressed.

So again anyone ever dismantled these? Anyone seen the shaft seize? Anyone oever fixed this???

Thanks,
John

I did, the sunroof was leaking and dripping onto center consol, seeping down and rusted the components and shaft seized. I got a used shifter with cable and replaced! Truck now shifts again!
