Default general ultragauge question

Just got it a couple of days ago and noticed something annoying. When I am changing pages it will go down but not up. If I go to page 2 and want to go back to page 1, the up button does nothing, I have to go down through all of the pages to get back to 1. Is this normal or is mine defective?
Also, the average mpg and instant mpg and fuel level seem to be useless, I was going through the settings and it said no fuel sensor detected, is that normal on a 96 disco?

Yes. The fuel sensor in your Disco is not compatible with the ultra gauge. As for your other problem, sounds like the button is defective, it should scroll up or down.

It only takes a light touch to actuate those switches.. I'm thinking you've either got a bad one or put a little too much force on the switch and broke it.. Either way it should go up and down...

Read the directions, you can only scroll one way, so if you have all 6 pages turned on you must scroll through all 6.
I only have 3? turned on, I only use one, I do not scroll.

Im sorry to hi jack. Its topical though, are you guys able to figure out the MPGs? I topped off the tank and reset the Ultra Gauge using the up button but still get some crazy mpg figure.

I haven't read the manual yet, but I too can only cycle down through the gauge screens; up and down buttons work once I'm looking through a nested menu.

With regard to fuel sensor...makes sense with the MPG numbers I'm getting as well.

Great to have, though.

If you guys read the directions you would see that the U-G uses the MAF, road speed, RPM, engine temp...to calculate the MPG readings.
Mine is fairly accurate in my lifetime average, it is only about ~1mpg low on the U-G when compared to the app on my phone.
U-G says 13.4, actual is 14.5.
The "miles til empty" function will not work because there is no fuel sender.

Hahaha, I'm working on it. I've had the U-G for 4 days, and the disco for only 3. It actually came with its original manual, so I'm reading that tonight. Also have the UG and RAVE manuals on my iPad for future reading...

You have enough reading to keep you busy until the New Year!! lol
I do hate how the U-G manual is online only.

I printed mine off, paperclipped it, then put it in the pocket on the seats.

I wish we could scroll both ways, it's frustrating. I only use one page anyways
