What is a good tire pressure on a 245/75 R16?

 

Tire size makes no matter on tire psi.

I run mine at 40psi on all four.

 

2x on 40psi

 

yeah because the book was like 26 front 34 rear and that just seems too little.

 

The correct pressure depends on the tire, it's load rating, and the axle loading you have.
You can't say x pressure for y tire.

There are two ways to get the correct tire pressure for your setup.
1. Chalk the tire and roll the vehicle to see the tread pattern it leaves and adjust the pressure based on the pattern it leaves.
2. Call the tire mfg and give them the tire size, model, load rating and vehicle weight per tire and they can tell you the suggested pressure.

For instance, I called Cooper and these were the inflation pressures for my load range D 7.50Rx16 Discoverer STT's

Right now i have the cooper Discovers stt or somthing... so should i be good with 40 psi?

well how much about does a discovery S1 weigh?

 

I give up.

 

im talking about day to day driving. no added load besides the weight of the car.
