Unhappy Gotta new HeaterMatrix in now hose wont clamp tight...HELP

So after a ridiculous dash facia removal and heater matrix replacement, I cannot get the hose and the heater matrix to clamp tight so it leaks. So frustrated... reaching for the JB Weld... please help.

I would use different clamps or new connections. I'm not completely familiar with the location you are working on, but when I was fixing my fuel issues I ended up replacing almost all of the clamps or connections.

Also - when replacing/refreshing hoses in the engine compartment - same deal.

Do you have additional information on the specific connection?

The connection is where the two heater hoses meet the solid opening of the heater matrix. Put in new o rings but can't get the clamp in position/tight enough to seal it.

This is a pretty good write up on the process...are the connections not long enough/too long to seat properly?

What Make/Model are you working on?

99 Discovery II The write up is great info, I used it to get this far. Seems like the pipe is angled down a hair, probably from installing the Heater Matrix. Afraid to yank or pound it into place but I can get the clamp on, hairline leak on bottom of seal. Can't get leverage to tighten the clamp further. Neither heater matrix or pipes really move to put into place.

Yeah - the only other thread I saw that sounds like what you are experiencing is here, with a resolution that may be what you need:

Best of luck!

And, I'm not attempting to insult you with this question, but you DID replace the O-Rings when you replaced the core - right?

The old "square" O rings are always screwing up and causing the issue it sounds like you are describing.
I hope that at the end of this you didn't replace the core when it was just the "O" rings...

O rings are replaced. Sadly, the Heater was the problem. O-rings used to be nice & dry.

Went with a small rope around the heater pipe, pulling (hard) and tightening clamp at the same time. Once it gets in there the clamp is easy to tighten. Thanks for the info, looks like I am leak free and yes Heater Matrix replacement lived up to its nasty reputation.

Rubber hose thread above looks like a good option too, just couldn't bring myself to take off the dash again.
