The bottom line is until you get the selector tab to rotate, it will not engage. Spray lots of PB Blaster on the whole linkage paying special attention to those little pivot points and clips.

See if you can move the shifter side to side, if not put a socket on that center nut on that plate I showed and try to loosen it.

Take some pics of what you got. It may take a few good soakings with PB to loosen it up.

Bottom line is, this must rotate CCW to lock the Center Differential.

You may want to try spraying the entire linkage heavily with PB Blaster qand rotating this piece to save yourself a lot of teardown.
What size socket is that?

It's been so long since I did it, but I think it was most likely a 13mm. Start with that and go from there. I had a Speed Handle if you know what that is and a long extension. HB has some hefty extensions, you still working there?

I bought a Pittsburgh 40 Piece Tap and die set ther today, hope it's worth a damn.

Yeah it's a 13mm. I didn't use a speed handle, instead I just used a 3" extension, and stuck my hand in the dark hole and played around. I got the center nut to turn from 12 oclock to 9 oclock but nothing happened. I took some pics just give me a sec to post.

So does this mean I get to start tearing this down? Because if so.. I might have to wait. This is my DD and I can't have her sitting in the driveway haha

That is terribly nasty and even the top appears severly corroded. I would take the top part off and clean it up. You still drive it with that out.
