Default Headrest removal ('99 D1 SD)

What's the proper way to remove the front headrests ('99 D1 SD)? I bought a set of seat covers, with head rest covers, and need to remove them in order to install the seat covers. 'Course it doesn't look like they're easy, there's no buttons at the base to just push and out pops the headrest...nooooo, it couldn't possibly be as easy as that!

I think...... you remove the caps where the posts go in, then there are clips but I could be wrong that may be the d2 seats

Yeah the bottom of the headrest posts go into these plastic things, with a wide base up top then a cylinder that the post fits into. Not sure what happens after that, or how far down those plastic tubes go...

I went out and gave it another try, starting with the driver's side headrest, and was able to remove it. However, during the process, I either broke or bent the retaining clip on the plastic post, but I'm not going to worry about it, because the other side is good. Was able to remove the passenger side headrest without breaking anything, and got the seat covers on for both sides. They fit okay, and don't look too out of place, so at least the actual leather seating surfaces won't get any worse. There was an area on the bottom of the driver's seat, around where the left butt cheek sits, that was wearing thin due to sliding in and out of the seat, so the seat cover will prevent that from getting any worse. Spent $35 for both seat covers and headrest covers, so it'll probably be one of the more least expensive things I'll be doing to this truck, lol...
