Heater not working right...
As some of you may know I spent the majority of the summer rehabbing my cooling system. Everything shy of the hg replaced and running like a champ temp wise in the AZ 118 deg summer.
But it's started turning cold (for AZ) 40 in the am. While at highway speed the temp gauge doesn't get over 8 o'clock. When stopped it moves 16th of an inch. Anyway, with the heater running the hot air isn't where it should be. It's warmer on the drivers side vent, closest to the window then gets cooler as you move to the pass side. I'm going to check the heater fuse tomorrow and I've searched and seen a few poss probs. The heater valve, Savanna had posted something earlier on this. Or, is the heater core pfffft? Any and all suggestions welcome.

The stat is 3mos old, the 192 deg? I believe. I just checked the coolant two weeks ago but have that on my list to check again tomorrow. It feels like the stat is sticking based on what I'm seeing on my temp gauge. As the outside temp goes up so does the heat coming out of the heater and the temp gauge remains static.
What he said, and -
What temp does scanner say you are at? If way below stat temperature, say 140 F, stat could be stuck open, not present, or when it installed it slipped down and left a crescent opening above stat, so it behaves like an open one. You could flush heater core.
Coolant being low will sure do it.

Yah to both you and SB, will check coolant first thing in the am and unfortunately am very familiar with the tstat. Thanks for the advice. SB, another stupid question, how flush core do you Yoda?
See this area? Your hoses are connected, these are bypassed. You can take yours loose and connect a garden hose to one side going toward firewall, lots of gunk and then clear water should come out of open end. If only a trickle comes out, it is clogged good.
I'd bet on the stat, either slipped from position, or sticking open, could have a big blob of Oklahoma grade RTV oozed into just the right spot....
I always like that pix as a way to stop those annoying waterfall sounds under the dash....

Ok so, I was a tad low on coolant but I did notice my fan clutch was engaged from start through the run up to normal temp. FC is 4mos old. Isn't it only supposed to spin when it hits temp?
