I mean I will be living in MS for the next 4-6 years as a college student. I won't be seeing much action.. but I see your point. I really want a winch and bumpers with a guard (I actually prefer an A Frame)

 

Get the medium duty, thats all you need realistically.
Are you really ever going to load her up with more than 400lbs of crap and leave it there 24/7/365?

And if you use synthetic winch line that will not add any weight at all to the front.
I have a winch bumper, roof rack and ladder on my original springs, no winch as of yet and she sits the same height now as before the winch bumper, and thats with the original springs.

 

The T.F. suspensions run soft in the first place when compared to the OME. If you have any plans for modifications go with the H.D. suspension, especially if you will be wheeling.

 

I mean probably not 400 lbs..

but what I plan for:

Front Bumper
Maybe ARB or Some sort of winch brush guard
Rear Bumper
Roof Rack
Ladder
Me and the GF and my siblings when we go to Colorado to Snowboard or camping because the little ones like to

Only thing is, I know I won't get all of those anytime soon because...well crap they are freaking expensive..

So based off of that should I get the Medium or HD?

 

Is it sagging badly now? Do you need to replace them right away?

If you put much stuff in the rear cargo area and a couple of people in the back, the weight adds up pretty quickly.

 

i read an article about how one of the reasons the range rover was so good was cause they had softer springs allowing great articulation. made me think at some point putting heavier springs is counter productive unless you have the weight to compress them. we are putting heavier springs to get height when most of us could get by with the stock spring rate with just a longer spring.

 

Actually no, when I first showed up on the forums everybody thought I had a lift already. The springs are old and so are the shocks. Springs are rusty..

When I press on the rear of Claire, she squeaks. To me that's a replacement sound..

I would just have the bumpers on and the roof rack on most of the time, so medium?

 

i'm currently leaning toward medium as 90% of the time it'll be driven empty and around roads. i just hope i don't kick myself that 10% i'm loaded out with everything i own fighting off zombies. that's all.
so for me, probably gonna go 3" OME medium duty. maybe.

 

Yeah that's what I was thinking, I like Claire and how she rides (heehee), and I don't want to compromise that over the ever so often chance I go serious wheeling.

3"? Anything past 2" I thought you entered steering issue zone..etc

 

You do get into trouble when you go past 2". You also will have trouble with drive shafts, so I have read. What about your break lines, I see on atlantic British where they have 2" suspension upgraded break lines but not any longer than that.
