Default Help..?

Sometimes the steering wheel on my 1998 Disco 1 wont unlock and the ignition key will not turn! the ONLY thing that resolves this is if I disconnect the battery for a few seconds and then everything magically unlocks n key turns normally..
Any idea guys? expensive fix?
Thanks

try turning your wheel side to side as you turn the key. The steering wheel lock could be in a bind keeping the key from turning.

Mine used to do this , it thinks you are not in park, there is a plug on the right side of the tumbler to disable this feature iirc
