There is a set of wires that go to a small plug on the backside of the key barrel assembly. They're white and black, that is the key barrel lock solenoid. Remove the small two wire connector from that solenoid. It's easier to see from the left side of the steering column or just trace those two wires which come out of the multi-wire white plug.

Don't tell anybody, trying to keep a low profile....... Your welcome. I tied the two wires together - the white and black to keep the circuit live. If your having any issue after removing the plug just copy what I did. Like Tom, I removed mine a long, long time ago, hard to remember what and why but I did keep my old assembly just incase cuz you never know. I ended up using a manual's assembly and have only the ignition switch and key light functional and nothing else. As a matter of record you could start my truck with a screw driver and I can remove the key while I'm tooling down the road and engines still lit. I did that for a couple of reasons, once you have your truck dragged onto a flat bed you'll know why it's better to have options.......
