Help my 98 dis dors not want to start

Unhappy Help my 98 dis dors not want to start

Hi i have a 98 dis that just does not want to start i replaced the engine the old one was done it was running for a bit then the starter went i replace the starter but it still does not want to start i had a guy come and take a look at it at the time my battery was dead he said to run a wire from the battery to the starter because i have no negtive to the starter and it will start well charged battery it just turns over it wants to start but it doesnt.The ground cable is there it will not even turn over with out that cable to the stater. i love my truck but i need some help

Have you checked for fuel pressure at the rail? Spark?

From your post, it sounds like you might have an issue with the Ground wires - I know Disco Danny had a great post with pics with that issue and how he corrected.

Without knowing what exactly has been ruled out - can't help too much.

If you can eliminate some things and post results (i.e. Fuel pressure at the rail, validation that you are getting spark etc...) I can suggest some things to try...

Also - when was your last service? What kind of Plugs and Wires are you running?

Really just need more information.....
