Default Help! Possibly U-Joint failure??

Thought I heard a metal slapping noise coming from the front of the T-Case the other day when the car was coming to a stop. Not sure if it is the u-joint or something else. I replaced one of the rear u-joints due to it making the same noise. However, upon checking the front drive shaft there seems to be little to no movement of either u-joint. The car was sitting for about two years up until a three months ago when I installed a used transfer case. Any suggestions or idea would be great. The noise only happens while coming to a stop.

I have had the same problem intermittently. I recently changed my output flange seal and re-lubed all the joints (opted not to replace at this time). Re-torquing the output flange bolt et al... seems to have helped a lot. Anxious to hear/read the other replies. Tom

U-JOINTS are pretty cheap, if in doubt replace it before it tears up and gives you a bigger problem.

Did you drain and replace fluid in center diff?
