Welcome Jbarr. With any vehicle model run, the last few years are the best and usually the cheapest. They have all the improvements but are less desirable because of the next newer body style, DII. Keep in mind that these are luxury SUV's and up keep is high. Look for a certified vehicle or be prepared to spend $.

I understand the high up-keep of luxery vehicles, after my M3 I've gotten used to paying alot for even simple things like brakes and spark plugs and such... I was just wondering if they are fairly prone to leaks and if it's normal and what to be aware of. Like for example when I was looking for my M, I had to look out for certain years and make sure that the factory waterpump had been replaced with a metal impeller instead of a plastic one, just things like that. Thanks again.

Pop open the glove compartment and look at the owners manual. If the owner kept the truck up the dealer will usually update the book, at least mine does. I bought mine used and have records of scheduled maint which was one of the reaons I bought mine, it was kept up well!
