Better wear your flame suit if you're going to talk about HID's in here...

There are several who are quite opinionated about the subject..

Having said that, For the last several years I've been gettting my kits from www.ddmtuning.com

Have had very good results..

yeah that seems to happen on alot of sites, i have the 6k in my dodge ram and love them and no problem with being blue or blinding drivers like I see being complained about by flamers, just a matter of properly adjusting the housings, anyway wife says lights are currently too dim on the rover so these seem to be an inexpensive solution that works well imo thanks fo the reply

If SWMBO thinks they are "real dim" check to be sure that head lamps actually come on. There is a much smaller bulb mounted in the same cavity, it is called a city light, comes on when we would think of "parking lights". Used for Euro cities where virtually no sidewalk, lights go right into people's windows. So we have had guiys with both head lights burned out, but still these terrible dim lights.

yes we know about the city lights it is not them, the working factory fog lights were also worthless so I dewired them and hooked up some cheap yellow ones which also seem brighter then the head lights go figure

thanks for the suggestion

I did contemplate some expensive bulbs like silverstars or the xv ones but i can do hid cheaper go figure, i know the hid are not considered legal everywhere but neither are the factory stone guards on the lights so...

yeah we did a set on a dodge ram yesterday and between the cold and wind all I can say is wow, so cold the zip ties did not want to work

guess my big question is do these use an inline relay harness between the factory harness nd ballasts?

Just fix your lights instead of doing illegal conversions that are a detriment to other drivers.

That they are all illegal and it's impossible to get a correct beam pattern using HID in a halogen housing is fact, not opinion.

I'd go with theretrofitsource.com. Very high quality goods.

Also, see:
Pirate4x4.Com - The largest off roading and 4x4 website in the world.

It seems that on late model Jeeps, the HIDs give a better beam pattern than the halogens. I've never seen them on a D1 though and it's highly dependent on the bulb used.

State to state have different outlooks regarding legalities of modifications.. we must be lucky because they don't consider them illegal here.
