Tom, as anyone who has been on any of the Rover forums knows, you hate HID's and that is fine, but for those of us who use them, I doubt any of us plan on blinding some just for the kicks of it. I bet I can safely say, that with the right built in deflectors, a set of 35, not 55 watt HIDs are as mild as most factory HID's and less offensive because we run white, 6000 K bulbs instead of the factory blue/white bulbs.
As for the question regarding replacement lens, no one makes them.

Not to mention the glare they cause is very annoying to other drivers.

This x 1000000000000000000.

I was not using a relay style harness, have one ordered but it has not made it yet. I am thinking it is a voltage problem battery is probably just down a little bit I hooked it up to a charger lastnight before I went to bed. Vehicle had been parked down in my barn waiting on my valley cover gaskets to get here so it hadn't been started in a couple weeks. As for the kit I have it is a dual filament that actually has a partial cover on the bulb to keep glare down to a minimum when installed in a halogen or regular housing. It is also on a 35 watt setup looked really good when it came on

Lol I love how everyone is ignoring the led bashers. I don't have them. Hate them when they blind you on the road and look like **** in an older vehicle. Unless it's an 03-04 disco. I got brights and two 7" Hellas if I need some light.

I'm thinking of running Compact Fluorescent Head Lamps...

11 watts puts out same light as a 60 watt bulb, plus they are 92 cents each at Wal-Mart.

Who said you did? Certainly not me.

You can say what you want. But the fact is that you can not get a correct beam pattern with HID bulbs in a halogen housing, no matter what you do. It's not possible, and that's why they are illegal, in all states of the US, in Canada and in most other countries.

If they are headlights and the vehicle is clearly for on-road use (retrofitted HID's are only legal off-road) then I seriously doubt a waiver would protect you from a lawsuit, or fines if the feds or state wanted to go after you. A customer can't give a business permission to break the law.
If it were my business at stake, there's no way I'd install them.

In most stastes, a release waiver of that type would not hold up in a court of law...been there, done that.
