Anybody know a thing or two about the orange polybushings from AB? I ordered a set and they are sitting in the garage awaiting to be installed.

What do you want to know? What part are the bushings for?

Its the complete kit. How they fare compared to OEM rubber ones. I also found out my TRE that I ordered are backordered. Instead of QH I got allmakes greasable ones.

I'm a big fan of the Orange PolyBushes. Justin @ Lucky8 recommended them after my AllMakes frame side trailing arm bushings lasted all of two days, I'm not kidding. The Orange Polys lasted a out two years. They took a lot of abuse in those two years and I'm satisfied with how long they lasted and performed. I also have the Orange at the frame side on my radius arms. I just recently got the Orange slotted radius arm bushings for the axle end to give me more articulation. So far I'm very happy with the results.

I think you'll be happy with the Orange PolyBushings. Use some soapy water to ease the installation.

Would it be best to take it to a shop and have them remove the old bushings and install the new orange ones?

By the way how the heck do you gents get your tie rod ends off the rod?

Do you want to do ALL the bushings? Any shop will probably charge you an arms and a leg to do all the bushings. I would grab a 12Ton Shop Press from Harbor Freight and do the bushings yourself on your own time table.

Stock TRE's and rods?? Good luck. I had to use a lot of PB Blaster, a lot of heat, and two large pipe wrenches with cheater bars. Sometimes it's just easier to upgrade to the TerraFirma HD rods than to try to salvage your old rods.

Which bushings are you doing? Bushings that are pressed in usually need to be pressed out. That's why I recommended a shop press.

I'll have to buy a press I'm going to HF as soon as I get my HD Rods from Lucky8. Is there a scanner like a Ultra Gauge for us OBD1 guys? The struggle, it's real ladies and gents.
