Hood liner
Well after 15years and 212,000 miles it was finally time to remove the hood liner on my Rover.
You can see the imprints of the power steering cap, upper radiator hose, intake plenum, alternator and radiator overflow tank.

Zero change in engine temps too, just as I expected.

Yeah, it's mostly there just to make everything quieter. Some people have noticed their hood's paint deteriorating after removing the liner though... I guess it blocks some heat too.
I saved it and might put it back but I doubt it.
My exhaust leak is alittle louder but thats getting fixed in a month or so.
Just waiting for my boss to buy a welder for the shop.
And a tire changing/balance machine and get his tire distributor licence...

That would be awesome. Discount tire direct has free shipping, since they don't have any stores near me. It would be great to not have to pay to mount them.
He buys over 100 tire's a year and gets a discount, but not as much as if he was a "distributor".
Discount Tire Direct has a limited choice on tires, they never have anything I want.
I agree with Eric, the one in my DI was so full of dust, I ripped it out right away and just cleaned everything up real good. If you put reflective material under the hood, won't it just keep heat in worse?
It would be cool to have some sweet built in scoops like the 1966 Chevelle SS had.
Or even a vent you could pop up with a linkage from inside like some of the real early vehicles had, if you are old enough to have seen those.
