So long story short I can get it through inspection but I really need the CEL to be out. Binnacle cover is already flopping around due to previous injury. 96 SE7. Any hints are appreciated.

1. You could just remove the bulb.
2. You could pull one of the wires at some point aloing the way.

Have you read and cleared the codes?

Just because the CEL is not lit does not mean it will pass inspection.
And if you remove the bulb and then clear the codes it will come up as "not ready" when they scan it at inspection time.

Well, really, the point is that there will be some "hey! look over there!" shenanigans going on at just the right point in time. It just can't be obvious.

To review;

shenanigans + wifey in low cut top + $50 = inspection sticker

Turns out six screws and ten minutes gets the bulb out. Pretty freakin easy.

Hey - I need to get inspected also - is that "wifeyinalowcuttop" a part specific to your location - I went through every letter of the RAVE and I couldn't find it, although a "GOOGLE" search turned up some results about this same part being able to correct "speedingticketfrom@$$holecop" errors that occur...

Mechanics don't get invited to BBQs. And if we do, we immediately suspect an upcoming unpaid job.
