I'm looking for a transmission jack, & the best option (if it will work) is a wide based floor jack with a transmission adapter. The weight limit on the adapter is 400 pounds. My concern is that the Transmission & t-case assembly is probably pretty close to that limit. Does anyone know how heavy the assembly is?

 

I would think you will be fine with a 400lb rating. I never had mine out but ive replaced the trans an transfer case in my chevy truck that was considerably larger than the disco and the shipping weight on them was 380lbs so I think youll be fine. If you wanted to play it safe you could take the Tcase off separate.

 

Make sure they are empty and you'll be fine I think.
