hunting for tool, need my truck for work
I'm working on the front bearings, and the manual didn't list the size of the lock nuts on the CV axles and now I'm hunting for the 52mm socket so i can get them torqued to spec. anyone in the area know of a place that has them on hand everything is mail order and will take a week or more and i start a new job in 2 days and will need that truck for it. I'm in the North Richland Hills, TX area.
Sad part is even the discovery one mechanic at Autobahn doesn't have one.
The exact specs are
52mm or 2.048IN

Is that the one north of Pittsburgh on Route 8? If you add the location and some other info on your profile page it will appear in every post and that makes it simpler to know where you are.
I used the adapter that RN and many others sell, but unfortunately that does not adapt to a torque wrench, so it is a SWAG process. If you are referring to the wheel bearings that is.
I have looked and have not seen any 52 MM sockets locally. Some of the places like NAPA can get one shipped to their stores pretty quickly IF they are even available to them.

OTC 1976 Hex socket is 2 1/8" Probably the closest you will get to the right socket without going to LR. And it sells for around $100.

That's what the lock washer is for, you bend over a corner of the washer and it locks the nut in place, it will not work loose.
I'm with spike, Just saying. I got your PM and i'll run over to the local UPS or USPS and figure a quote for an overnight-er but I really would say save your money (you're going to need it in the long run owning a New-To-You-Rover) and just tighten the nut with channel locks and bend the tab over.
