hunting for tool, need my truck for work
You can buy the adapter from Trevor at Rovah Farms for about ten bucks or from Rovers North for about 20 plus shipping.
The adapter will fit in a USPS Flate Rate Box for a pretty cheap price.

Or he could have done what I suggested and run to his local Napa and grabbed a socket that fit over the nut yet still engaged the sides without rounding off the corners. I think I ended up with a 2 3/16" socket for about $25. Not a perfect fit but it getsthe job done and I can torque them to spec.
You'll also need two of these:
Land Rover Parts, Accessories and Information
And two of these(if you want the good ones):
Hub Oil Seal 12MM New Style (Part # RTC3511) - Land Rover gaskets and seals from Atlantic British
And you should really replace these as well:
Washer Lock (Part # FTC3179) - Land Rover bolts\clamps\brackets\washers from Atlantic British

finished work this afternoon, really good i decided to do the work, the place or previous owner did not know how to install bearings to say the least. but its been driving this afternoon with no problems. will probably double check just to be safe but thanks again for the input, time to move on to the rear ones now, fortunate for me, i was at the LR dealer right at closing and talked with the Disco one guy that i had talked to before, and he hooked me up with seals and washers no charge, so i got lucky there. I'm still going to grab a socket for future work but for now its on the road

Those all got replaced before the bearings failed, and are still good, even had them checked just to be certain, still need to adjust my steering gear, and then move to the rear end, ball joints, bearings, brakes, and oh yes the diff seal is leaking, so thats got to be fixed to, so will have it on stands for a little while doing those repairs. after that, i just have to install transfer case mounts and im caught up on 99% of maintenance minus a few hoses or clips. then i can start saving for the toys to add to it
