I just replaced the master cylinder an now...........HELP
So, I switched out the master cylinder in my 96 disco Tuesday. When I pulled out of the driveway, to take a trip around the block to check out my work, everything seemed fine. I was proud. Well I was making the trek back to Richmond, about a 2 1/2 hour trip, I heard a sound coming from my front passenger wheel well. It sounded almost as if the caliper was engaging. After a few miles of this I noticed a sensation, almost as if someone was tugging on my disco, no jolting but like I was towing something. Then the brake pedal suddenly froze, I mean I couldn't budge the thing, and my engine started overheating. I pulled over and popped the hood for a quick check fluid levels and what have you. And suddenly I heard what seemed to be pressure being released from, where I'm not sure, maybe the abs box. So I hopped in turned on the ride and the brake pedal went to the floor. So I decided after spending a month with a faulty master cylinder, and pumping my brakes to stop, I could do this. I took off and eventually pressure built and I made it home. Right before I got home though, It went through the same process, noise from the wheel well, stiff brakes, to unmovable pedal, and an overheating engine. Does anyone have any ideas what the heck could be going on with my brakes? I'm completely confused.
And it happened again today on my way to work. I took the abs fuze out hoping it was that, but no dice..........
And if I open the brake line, the pressure releases, temporarily

You bought a non original Land Rover master cylinder, you cant do that.
For some odd reason after market ones never work on the DI, this happens each and every time.
You need to bite the bullet and buy a Land Rover master cylinder.

DUDE stop driving the friggin truck
If you want to ruin the thing by overheating it or twisting up the driveline fighting a stuck caliper thats your buisness
But are going to kill or hurt someone else running around in that 4500lb beast with bad brakes
that is very irresponsible
pony up the $290 and fix it, if you dont have the scratch now PARK IT UNTIL YOU DO

its in park, and not moving till its fixed. I was posting for help on diagnosing the issue, i have no intentions of moving it till its functioning. But like i said, im a little green when it comes to cars, and needed, well still need a little diagnostic help. with that said, could it be just a faulty caliper, or air in the lines, or the booster even? I went into this thinking i was just doing a simple MC change out, and its turning into a whole new beast..........
