Default If I use my factory tow ring as a recovery point...

...will it break off? I know it's an über simple question, but I'm genuinely wondering! I do plan to weld on some manly recovery points, but until then, it'd be nice to know what to use in the mean time...

I have used mine several times they bent but never broke. I dont think I would use them for a winching point but they do work in a pinch.

the front one is not recommended(wouldn't stop me from trying), the rear is.

front recovery points are ok to use. if your going to use them alot might as well get the HD rings from expedition exchange...

I've got no front spoiler, so was thinking of welding some steel recovery points to the exposed bumper. Until I do that though, I was wondering of there's a good point to attach to for my upcoming July 4th run!

factory metal bumper parts are super weak.... it will probably rip or bend the bumper all to hell......

factory rings are ok to use for simple pulls.

They aren't tow rings, they are lashing rings, used for securing the vehicle during transport.
Get yourself some good JATE rings.

Actually, if you read the owner's manual, on the front end there is both a single tow hook and 2 loops for lashing the vehicle down during transport. The tie-downs bend really easily if you try to use them to tow with.
