Eric any chance you have an updated link to that part, it no longer works? I looked around that site and did not find it, of course that does not mean its not there.

They have it if you search by the part #. Here is a link:

HARNESS 300 TDISCOVERY I KIT RANGE ROVER/DISCOVER, AMR4956 - Land Rover Parts | Rovers North

Description is for HARNESS 300 TDI KIT RANGE ROVER/DISCOVERY I

I was on the site ordering something so I thought I would take a look for it.

Yep I just found it like that also after clicking on properties for the picture in the first post. Thank you!

Need it or not I just bought it... Does any one have a picture of where it goes?

I am still confused by this.

I have a 1997 Disco 1 SD

I have torn the dash apart using the instructions pictured here, and there is no spider unit in my dash. No plug where it used to be. No adapter. No harness to plug in to if I had it.

Maybe a 1996 model not completed till 1997?

This doesn't work on 97 and later trucks; the "spider" was discontinued and the theft unit controller now does those things. It's near the passenger footwell along the right side of the heater blower. You might be able to do something similar for everything but the immobilization to the ECU, which is different. I haven't looked at the pinout or the connector.

Check the electrical troubleshooting manual for 1997.

Is this for the '96 and older? And do you mean inside the engine compartment or inside under the dash?

This fits 1996 and older trucks. It's in the ceter of the dash just below where the radio mounts.

Yeah I found out a guy from work has a '95 Disco and he said he thought it is behind the radio. He thinks you have to take the radio out to get to it, is that correct? Also is it obvious where it goes, and I assume the other end then just hangs?
