Default Installed Terrafirma lift

Figured it was only fair to post a little bit since I just installed their medium duty 2" lift.

Purchased off Ebay from texasrovers (Something like that... I'll update it when I find em) for 489.00 shipped to my door.

Service was great. Got here fast, even tossed in a couple beer coozies with "love my Rover" on them.

Overall, so far, I'm impressed. Parts are great quality, and everything fits perfect. The ride is incredible. Haven't gone on the trails yet because I need to get my 265/75/16's mounted. Stockers are dead. What I can tell ON road is the handling is (at worst) back to stock. My stock stuff had 130K on it and was toast. This truck now feels like it should. Not too stiff, not too sloppy.

I can't recommend getting these because I haven't really tested them yet - but I initially they seem like a good option for those with a little less cash. I may suffer later by not going OME, but that'll have to wait.

Only problems I encountered was with removal of old components. Passenger rear upper shock mount broke - the threaded bolt snapped off and you can't replace it as it's a mold. SO.... had to find another after snapping a tap inside it... THAT was fun. Snapped multiple bolts elsewhere... swaybars etc. All which I had new replacements for. And yes, I soaked them 2 days and had to heat some of them... still had issues!

Actual ride height gained was around 4". I guess my stock crap was REAL bad... or because I have little to no extra weight on my truck, 2 inches ended up being more. Or both. Prior to lift rear height was around 31. (ground to top of fenderwell) it's now ~35. Front gain was similar... forget the numbers. To be safe, I think I'll be getting longer brake lines. No problems to report, but figure it can't hurt.

I'll put pics up soon. Didn't take any of the install because I only have a DSLR and wasn't about to tear it up taking pics of this.

Def please follow up with more impressions as you get to know your new setup. The lift kit was everything you needed for 489.00 shipped? Thats awesome. Was it a "buy now" item or did you "win" that price? I'm looking for a 2" lift but wouldnt mind paying less than what OME is asking.

Also let me know if you do go with the extended brake lines, think you'll get braided if you do?

Cant wait for pics.

Yes - using the terrafirma shocks as well. They're approximately 2" longer than stock and allow for greater travel (although I've still not been able to get out on the trail).

I do see lots of UK mags/websites utilizing terrafirma. Figured I'd give it a shot. This weekend I will take it on a test and see what happens.

I will.

I think it was 459.00 plus shipping. Total was 489 (something like that).

Here's some contact info (card that came in the box from the sales guy):

I'll know this weekend if I get brake lines - and yes, they'll be braided. I will probably do them anyway, but this weekend will tell if it's because I 'need to' or because I 'want to'.

Bought my truck with 80k so I don't know what a 'new' 98 DI would ride like; however, the ride I have NOW is FAAAAAR better than what I had a week ago. It drives like a sports car. Not bumpy or harsh, but nice and tight. I'm very pleased so far!

It will get better - why? Because I found out this morning that my steering damper has a 50 cent piece sized hole in it. Must have hit a rock off road. I'm sure the response will be way better soon as that comes in. I'm also going with TerraFirma for that.

I'll try to get some pics up this afternoon/evening.
