Yes it is just a truck, a hunk of metal that only has the worth that we give it.

Thanks for posting useful pics. I think I make give that a whirl, my mini-trimming in the same area is not "cutting" it.

The best bet for trimming is to cut about every 1/2-3/4 inch perpendicular to what your cutting and folding the material to the inside. Makes it a lot stonger and you dont have the sharp edge afterword either. Just my $.02

x2. That is what I did on my RX-7 rear fenders to make room for wider tires. I made cuts radiating out from the wheel arch, then folded them in and tack welded the flaps to the inner fender, then filled in the gaps with putty. No sharp edges, and clean.

That doesn't work with the DI aluminum, does it? I thought it was too hard and would break off.

It absolutely does... I'll post a few pics later on of the cut I did years ago for 265/ 75's

Fold it for strength, looks and safety. you'll need to touch up the paint at the crease but that is no big deal.

Default Stupid camera...

my camera took a dump just in time for Santa to bring me a new one...

BUT here is a very helpful link to guide anyone through the process. Just a simple cut is...well.... lame... sorry but it is.

Why not just flare them out? I did on mine to give me a little room... Just add a little extra to where it is bolted on...
