Default Key fob question

Okay, my DI didn't have the fob to remotely unlock the doors, so I've been using the key. Now that it's getting cold, the key is beginning to turn harder & harder so I want to get a fob before I break it off in the lock. Was talking to a guy today that days he has a set of (2) fobs, but thought they were for a Freelander. It's a (2) button square fob with a ring to hang the key on & FCC ID# KHH 17TN inscribed on the back of the fob. (1) does anyone know if this will work on a DI? (2) can the factory fobs be programmed to any Land Rover, or is that something I need a dealer to do for me??

I'll take a remote or two if you've got extras!

I'd settle for one, but how would I program it?

Although I'm no expert in the Land Rover world yet, the research I've done on the subject says it requires a dealer or LR certified locksmith to make it work. I just want to know which one works with the DI before the guy gives them away to someone else, but I'm also betting someone on this site has figured a work-a-round to the programming piece

Same boat here. 98 Disco I. Just got a used two button remote.
The procedure in RAVE (the same one posted above) isn't working for me. Can't get it into "Teach Mode".
Maybe I just can't get it done in 8 seconds but I'm also wondering if this is the correct procedure since RAVE seams to be so 96 Disco-centrict.

If anyone can verify if this procedure works and for what years as well as things like does the key switch have to be turned to position 0 and the key removed or just toggle between position I and II, should the key be used to lock and unlock the doors or will the sill buttons work? Does the door pin switch matter at all?
