Landy cut out
Hi every body
This one is for the clever one's. I have a Land Rover Discovery 1 v8i 1996, every few kilometer's the landy cuts out, then wait a few minutes she start's up again, I have tested the voltage at the petrol pump which's is 11.1, also the white and purple wire coming from the fuel pump into the relay of the petrol pump which's is progressively climbing up to 28 volts and cuts out. I have replaced the petrol pump the coil and the petrol pump relay, I have check the negative wires from the battery and the coil. I have even strip the dash to get to the spider black box which's did have dry joints, I have fix all of that, obviously I have missed something. Is there anybody that can help me.
Thank you
Kobus

it is on the left side of the engine where the engine meets the transmission where exhaust can heat it up
since you say drive a few km, shuts off and restarts after a cool down makes sense this sensor is getting hot or wiring is damaged, common issue
hope thats your problem since it is an easy fix

Hi Tom R
Call me blind but I don't see the crankshaft sensor in the location you mentioned, I did saw something similar to that at the side of the automatic gearbox when I disconnect that sensor the landy switches on but that is about it.
