Default LE vs LSE

My 98 Le has jump seats, rear step, rear AC, and CD changer.

From what I see on cars.com a LSE has a leather shift ****, two more speakers, and a starting MSRP $3K higher. Any other differences between LE and LSE in 98?

Chrome bumpers and door handles. More wood trim on the console. Paint matching bumper end caps and mirrors are a few I am aware of.

Matching paint front grille, Lightstone seats with black piping, and my favorite... Boost wheels. They are probably the most sought after wheels as they come on Defenders so Defender guys are always looking to buy them.

It's really weird, But I have an LE(at least the decal on the fender says so) and an LSE here right now and both have all the LSE trims and Boost wheels.

What do the Boost wheels look like?

I forgot to mention my LE has leather seats - such as they are - with seat heaters and wood trim console. I have yet to try the seat heaters, but now seems like a good time.

Perhaps some day I will even get the diff lock and low range to work.

This site has a list and photos, but they mis spelled a few names, Like Freestyle is spelled Firestyle.

Thanks,

The Boost wheels look quite similar to the ones on my LE; perhaps they are a different width? Or just a slightly different style?

All D1 alloys are the same dimensions. The Defender guys get all moist over the Boost wheels. You can sell them for $500 easy.

Your wheels are called dished. My buddy claims they are the best because they don't rally have a protruding lip.

In further study, my LE has all the same stuff as the LSE, including boost wheels. But, the end caps, mirrors, and front grill are not painted like the LSE.

That is the only thing I can tell.

Interesting! So if you have Boost wheels you have to worry about someone "boosting" them? (sorry, old slang term for stealing) Guess I am better off with my dished wheels except that by selling a set of Boosted Boost wheels if they are $500 each I'd make twice what I have in my Disco now.

Thanks for the LE-LSE update; since my LE is black, the other bits are already body color.

I wish they were $500 each... The best price I have gotten was $800 because they were mint for all 5.

Sadly, LR wheels are pretty cheap. I normally can sell a set of D2 16" wheels for $200-$300 only because guys want to change their 18" for 16" to get more tire and less rim for of-roading.

I'm pretty sure boosted means stolen no matter what age you are, but I am getting old...
