One of the bulbs for my city/parking lights located in the headlight housing burned out. I researched options and purchased a pair of Philips 194LED's from Pep Boys for $12. These are bright white and don't have the fake blue hue of some LED replacement bulbs. I'll slowly replace the remainder of my incandescent bulbs with LED's as they burn out.

The attached photo shows an example of the incandescent vs. the LED. The city lights illuminate when the parking lights are selected via the stalk and also when the headlights are on. This photo was taken with just the parking lights activated.

Check the polarity of the incandescent as you replace it and insert the LED the same way. If the new bulb doesn't light, just flip the polarity and it should come on.

 

Those are what I use in my DII, they're a great replacement!

 

I put LED's in mine but they burnt out pretty quickly. Plus the housings start to fall apart. :/

 

I modified my D1/D2 headlights to accept 3/4 Round White LED's found on 18Wheelers and trailers. The Phillips are brighter vs the 3/4 Round LED's (i have the Phillips on my D2 and 3/4's on my D1) but you DO NOT have to every worry about the 194 bulb holder seals falling apart and causing your lights to fog up or fill with water.

Are those Philips 194LED able to project the light nearly as far as the incandescent, or are they just brighter?

The Phillips are just brighter. Those lights aren't really meant to project anything anyways. More like a daytime running light if you ask me. I liked the Phillips, but I also like the Sylvania Zevo 194's.

 

I have cheap, put them in shifter,city lites, fender blinkers

The led hate moisture think I have 1 city lite left working lol
