Great vid Spike!

Now if only I had seen that prior to my first offroad trip with a group. Could have avoided this embarrasing pic:

its pathetic how many rover owner don't know how to use the transfercase/ difflock lever. my father in law owned one and he never seemed to know exactly how to use it, and when i started looking for one myself, I drove 2 of them and both the owners didn't know how to use it. the first one i test drove we had to actually sit there and read the manual so i could make sure it worked.

I'm not trying to pick on anyone, but I sure thought that the picture in front of the shifter was pretty clear. I just wish my 03 had the CDL at all.... soon to be remedied.

Now the transfer case shifter on a 1999ish 4Runner Limited.... that I had to read the owners manual.

i noticed your truck doesn't make a "beep" when the shifter button is pressed. mine beeps till it is in gear, the cdl works, dash cdl light works. it has been beeping since i have owned the truck. Are they not supposed to beep? or am i just not hearing it in the video?

My truck was running during that video and the stereo was off so any noises from my truck you would have heard.
Mine only beeps if the t-case is in neutral and the transmission is in any gear other than neutral.
I do not know if its supposed to be more than that or not.

He is a good friend, and his 4 runner is very capable. But you can be DAMN sure that the second that chance arises I will be all over it, with camera in hand!
