Default RRC VS Disco 1

So my buddy just sold me his hacked up convertable 89 RRC. I know besides the physical appearance of the RRC, whats the differences between an RRC and a D1?. What I know is 10 spline vs 24 spline shafts, 3.5 motor, doesnt a RRC have a diff T-case and a viscous coupling system?. The RRC I got also has a 2" OME HD lift on it, those same coils will give my D1 2" of lift right?.

I am interested in this too, one showed up locally for $500 and I would have bought it as a parts car, if my 4 stalls weren't already full...

89+ should have the 3.9L
mid 93+ should have 24 spline shafts
The transfer case is the borg warner. I'm not sure how strong it is, but a friend had a 1990 model and it would go anywhere the D1's would go.

I love the looks/lines of the RRC, but I wish they would have put a CDL on the t-case('cept for the '87-'88 that did)

I think it's some sort of limited slip. Some people put disco transfer cases in them with the cdl and shifter to activate it, kind of how I need to do on my 03 disco.

hmmmmmmm this RRC I have has got a CDL shifter in it, its just like my Disco, when you lock in the CDL theres even a red light that lights up on the console letting you know. Am I wrong??

no, some of them had the lt230 transfer case, but like kenk said, I think it's the 88 and older. What's the 10th digit of the VIN?
